Dr Łukasz Furtak obecnie prowadzi na filologii angielskiej oraz lingwistyce stosowanej w Kielcach oraz w Filii UJK w Sandomierzu zajęcia takie jak fonetyka praktyczna, gramatyka opisowa, dialekty języka angielskiego, historia języka angielskiego, wstęp do językoznawstwa, warsztaty tłumaczeniowe pisemne z elementami analizy tekstu oraz tłumaczenia naukowo-techniczne i prawnicze. W przeszłości, dr Furtak pracował w kolegiach językowych w Tarnobrzegu oraz Sandomierzu, oraz na FA KUL w Lublinie. W latach 2002-2003 zatrudniony był jako dwujęzyczny tłumacz - asystent w kancelarii adwokackiej Law Offices of William Karnezis w Chicago (IL, USA), a w roku 2017 ukończył „Kurs dla kandydatów na księgowego” organizowany przez Stowarzyszenie Księgowych w Polsce (Oddział w Lublinie), zdał egzamin państwowy otrzymując certyfikat księgowego (kod zawodu 331 301). Jego pasją jest fonetyka kontrastywna polsko-angielska, fonetyka eksperymentalna oraz dydaktyka fonetyki.
